Tommy's Trees Make Holidays Brighter for All
WeCAN Executive Director Christopher Anderson and Board President Lori Springer gratefully accept a check from Nicole and Kevin Nash of the BeLikeTommy Project.
The 2023 Tommy's Trees campaign was a big success with all 300 trees sold locally this holiday season. In addition to sharing Tommy's beautiful light with others, the BeLikeTommy Project also partnered with Western Communities Action Network (WeCAN) to provide support to those in need this holiday season.
For each tree displayed, the BeLikeTommy Project donated $25, and a $25 match was made thanks to the Excelsior Lions Club, Bruce and Carol Rae Olson, and Mark and Becky Lee. This generous collaboration resulted in a total donation of $15,000 to WeCAN this year. Organizers would like to offer a special thank you to everyone who helped unbox, assemble, and deliver Tommy's Trees, and to all the businesses and individuals who bought trees and helped promote this year’s campaign.
“Tommy loved Christmas for all that it stands for in terms of giving and bringing joy to others, and we hope to continue the Tommy's Trees tradition next year in an even bigger and brighter way!” said Kevin Nash, Tommy’s dad.
The BeLikeTommy Project was created to honor the kindness and joy of Tommy Nash following his passing from sudden cardiac arrest in December of 2021. The group’s mission is to keep his loving spirit alive by caring for the hearts of others, both physically and emotionally. For more information, visit www.BeLikeTommy.org.
